Purpose: to generate and keep precious cultural and natural resources within our communities, support native Hawaiian practitioners, and encourage the use of the ahupuaa system like our kūpuna.
Eligible locations: DA 44 ATELIER 45-588 kamehameha highway kaneohe HI 96744
How:
1. Gather and assess your items for trade. Try to value your things in terms of mana, time, and energy invested into the creation, gathering, and preparation of an item instead of the monetary value.
2. Bring your items in and speak with a 44 ATELIER mea kōkua. They will help you to come to an agreed upon equal trade from the store. (Example: 3 salves for 1 hour of lomi, 1 bag of smoke meat for 4 shirts, etc)
3. Trade, reuse, and repeat!
Some things to consider for trade: value added items, health and wellness items, previously loved (but washed!) clothing or housewares, original art, gifts from the garden, etc. Even your time is valued here! Trade items and build community relations for some hours working in Da 44 Atelier! Check with a mea kōkua for details.
